though I am unemployed and 160 pesos is a lot.. I don't care.. Every cent was totally worth it! Even if I'd have to hibernate for the next two weeks.. hahaha!
I can sum up the 6th Harry Potter movie as DARK, FUNNY, MATURE and HUMAN. I don't believe I'm being biased when I say this was the BEST movie in the franchise, it had all the right elements which makes it click so much. As other critics would say, the other 5 films didn't give justice to the newest addition to the franchise. The wait was long but it was well worth it.
The cinematography was something so reminiscent of Tim Burton films, it was dark which can be reflective of the more mature theme of the movie itself. It beautifully showcased how the story was progressing into more adult waters and how the characters were taking a swim in the same waters as well.
I personally think that the relationships blossoming between Harry/Ginny and Ron/Hermione were perfectly portrayed on-screen. I, personally, am not a fan of these pairings ever since. I just didn't think it was developed properly in the books and it just didn't click, but that's just my opinion. There's something about this film, in particular, that made me say, "I totally get the pairings now, which J.K. Rowling has been shoving down my throat all through 7 books. I maybe was just too stupid to realize it"
the chaste and sweet kiss... which the PSP game spoiled for me cause everything that was in the game apparently happened in the movie..
One scene that stood out, regarding this aspect, was that scene when Harry was consoling a heartbroken Hermione. Prior to that was the scene where Lavender snogged Ron after winning the Quidditch match. Their dialogue was really simple but it was very intimate at the same time, these were just two teenagers, despite being magical were still perfectly human beings that were susceptible to heartbreak. This scene was NOT in the book, but I am perfectly happy with it, and I do wish it was included in the book. And NO, I didn't like it just because Harry was hugging Hermione (though I am a supporter of their pairing) but it was a clear testament that they will always and forever be PLATONIC. So, I guess I just have to run to fan fictions to get my fix of some H/Hr lovin... Anyway...
And of course, EVERYBODY loved the comedic scenes courtesy of Rupert Grint and some from Daniel, too. But really, most of them were from Rupert. He clearly has a bright future in comedy. The facial expressions, the delivery of lines, the comedic timing; hit it right on the spot causing an uproar of laughter from the viewers each and everytime. It balanced out the whole total dark feel of the movie and probably is one of the reasons why this film is the best so far.
Well, since I've been mentioning how everything was maturing in the film. I'd have to commend everyone on how they have improved with their acting skills. It's good that Tom Felton has been shoved in the spotlight portraying the newly anointed Death Eater, Draco Malfoy; it's his time to shine. He perfectly portrayed the inner turmoil he was going through on that fateful night atop the Astronomy Tower. *thumbs up* That scene was intense!!! WOW! I remember all the feelings I had when I first read the book rush back into me again on the Astronomy Tower scene and the scene that followed, where they already found Dumbledore's body lying on the ground, lifeless...
The mind-blowing effects on that Quidditch match of Gryffindor against Slytherin was monumental! It more than made up for the lack of Quidditch from OotP... So, this was definitely, worth the wait. Everything was so visually gratifying and you could feel the energy of the sport being played!
But really, I don't think this is a film a kid would enjoy watching. It's not just some fantasy flick that you go see just for the effects cause the real story is happening within the conversations. And you HAVE GOT to have a brain of an adult to get the point of it all.
I truly recommend this to any Harry Potter fan. You shouldn't miss seeing this in the cinema.
Don't be cheap and download it off the internet. There has been news that malware (viruses, spywares, trojans, worms, etc.) are actually being attached to the cam copy files that you can find online most probably through torrents. And you know what that means, all your personal info like usernames and passwords are being stolen. So, don't get shocked if your Facebook or Twitter accounts have been posting statuses of you selling sex. I guess that's what people callBAD KARMA.
A/N: I think I'm going to make another post about some other things in the movie.. like the details that we find very interesting...
